What is the best way to search houses for rent?

Q. We live in Ohio, and are searching for a house for rent, not an apartment. What is the best way to go about searching homes for rent? We can find plenty of apartments for rent, and houses for sale, but we are having a hard time finding houses for rent.

A. Also you might want to check Craigslist. I find it superbly helpful but I also know other people have had problems with spam on there. It may be worth a try :) I've subletted quite a few apartments on there so I know the housing section works pretty well.

Rent to own homes? How do i find them and is it worth it?
Q. i have a couple questions
1. Do you need to have a good credit to rent to own? (that's what's stopping me from buying)
2. How do i search for rent to own homes? Would a really state agency be able to provide me with listings? there is no option rent to own in most cases, just bankrupty and short sales..
3. Is it worth it or should i just rent for another year and then buy?

A. You don't say where you are interested in buying, but...

Comments geared to US/TX - a typical Lease/Purchase or as you put it Rent To Own: This is a property where the owner either owns the property outright or has a very small mortgage left on it. If the current owner has a *significant* mortgage left on it, I would suggest you steer clear.

1) A prudent owner of such a property would want to know that the prospective buyer(s) were credit worthy. That might kill the deal for you right there.
2) You probably want to consult with a local licensed real estate agent to help you find properties that would work for the transaction you are proposing.
3) If you have little or no cash for down payment and extra rent to be credited to your purchase of the property, keep renting for a while. Usually these lease/purchase transactions require that the prospective buyer put down a significant down payment and pay an increased rental amount to be credited to costs when the final purchase transaction happens. So if you are not "liquid" or able to pay more rent than is typical, this may not work for you.

Good luck.

What are the great neighborhoods to live in Toronto?
Q. I'm planning to move to Toronto at the end of this year or next and I would like some advice about which neighborhoods are nice to live.

I would like to share/roommate, paying around 550$ - 750$. Also, I would like to live in a neighborhood with people in their 20-30.

What do you suggest? Also, is there any website that can help me search for rent/roommate/etc.?

Thanks!

A. check this website out:

http://www.torontoneighbourhoods.net/search/search.html

Toronto is often called a city of neighborhoods. Each one is different with its own unique character. If you are looking for a younger and hipper neighborhood, try King West, Queen West, Yonge / Eglinton. Many people I know (in their 20's) love Yonge / Davisville.

In these, you may be able to find accomodation for that price. Otherwise, for that price you may have to live in a neighborhood more off the beaten track.

Good luck,
