Is a Boxer really a good dog for a 9 year old girl?

Q. We are considering a Boxer now, and I've done tons of research on them. I hear they are excellent with both kids and other animals. Is that true? I am looking for some personal experiences here. I have a 2 year old and 8 year old daughter. My daughter wants to begin 4H- we have a medium sized yard so I think that there will be plenty of room let him or her romp around, run, and play.

A. Hi,I agree with what the other person said about the dog gets stressed, but that goes for any breed !
A boxer is a nice choice of breed, they are very good dogs.
ANY dog can either be a good or bad dog it really just depends on the owner if you respect him and treat him right you wil have a nice pet !
You seem like you done your research well and also are prepared for backyard, etc.
It's not gonna be good enough to just put him out in the yard though you have to walk him too, I'm sure you know that already, lol
But what I'm trying to tell is that somebody ones said to me that you should get the size of dog you will be able to handle.
I understand that the dog is going to be a familly dog but mostly for your daughter.
You can train the dog well at obiedience classes like in Petco or petsmart for example, but he is still an animal and if your daughter goes out to walk him... (Boxers are strong and large dogs) and he pulls your daughter might not have a chance to hold him.(sees a cat, etc.)
That's what I meant with "GET THE SIZE DOG YOU CAN HANDLE"
But if you'll be around I'm sure he will be fine.

They might have a few Boxers at your local shelter you can adopt wich is nice, cause there are to many dogs out there looking for a good home !!!!!
But since your one daughter is still very young you might wanna go with a puppy from a good breeder, not a store cause most dogs there come from puppy mills and nobody should in my opinuim support that !
Many dogs in Shelters are older and that means they've got history you wont know about !
But just try it out, before you adopt him you can go to the shelter and take him out to play with him a few times.
The advantage of that is that they might be trained already and housebroken where compare to a puppy you will need to do all that.
Dogs do take a lot of your time, but in the end its all worth it :)
I hope this helped and have fun with your new familly member.
Ps make sure you have all the supplies you'll need before he or she arrives !

Why do dorm rooms look so big in commercials?
Q. Are there any colleges that the rooms are actually that big? Other then a sorority or fraternity room? I have seen a couple dorms and 2 of them looked like it was lucky that 2 beds could fit in the room let alone the things they show in the commercials for the dorm room.

A. it is a set at a production studio shot with wide lens cameras...to get you to move in the dorms and to make your parents think it is safe and comfy

How to get a hold of movie posters?
Q. Hi.

I see how many people are able to get genuine movie posters that look like they were hung up as advertisements previously. My question is how I can get a hold of movie posters that I could get for free, and hand them up in my room lets say, or my den, etc.

This is all with no printing, purchasing on my part, just getting them for free.

Anyone?

A. I live in N.C.
our local Ingles store in town usually has there old movie posters in a basket by the rental stand and they give them away for free may be you could check your Ingles

Credit Card for holding hotel room question?
Q. When you use a credit card to hold a hotel room (lets say its for $100 dollars) and if its far in advance like a few months, is that amount blocked on your credit card that far at advance or just until you check in? Im planning a few nascar trips and going to be reserving over 10 hotel rooms and was just wondering..

A. Credit card blocking occurs when a merchant contacts your credit card company with an estimate of what your total bill will be and "blocks" that amount even though he isn't charging your card for the total amount at that time and might not ever charge your card for that amount.

An example of a situation where credit card blocking occurs is when you use a credit card to register with a hotel or car rental service. They call in an estimate of what your total bill might be to your credit card issuer and have that amount set aside or blocked for possible future use. This way you can't stiff them on the final bill later on.

While an amount has been blocked it cannot be used to make other purchases. So, if you leave your hotel room to go shopping, you might find your credit card declined on the basis that you have reached your credit limit.

Some credit card companies will let you go over your limit and then access an "over the limit" fee on your next statement. These fees are heavy and you want to avoid them if at all possible.

For the above reason, it is not a good idea to use a credit card that you have nearly maxed out when you travel.

Hope this answers your question.
