Q. Considering renting in a 2br with shared kitchen (but private bathroom) of another person with 1br. What are some things I should be aware of when going shared?
A. I used to share a house and the one thing that never works is when you share food. Always keep your food separate and pay for your own. That needs to be a house rule. If your roommate wants to 'borrow' food, thats ok as long as they ask you.
What happens if you don't keep your food separate is that eventually someone begins to feel like they're being taken advantage of because they buy all the food and it's gone when they look for it.

Can a window air conditioner running inside the house (not in a window) be a safety hazard? If so how?
Q. Im renting in a condo complex and the central air does'nt work and the landlord won't fix it. I have an older window unit from my previous apartment, however the condo association doesn't allow window units. I want to try running the window unit in the upstair hallway with the exhaust towards the air return for the central air.
A. That won't work. The unit would put out as much hot air as cool.
What does the factor-price equalization theorem predict happen to the wages and land rents in this 2 country?
Q. Country X is relatively labor abundant and relatively land scarce. Country Y is relatively labor scarce and relatively land abundant. What does the Stolper-Samuelson predict will happen to the real income of workers and of land in these two countries as a result of free trade? What does the factor-price equalization theorem predict will happen to the wages and land rents in these two countries?
A. Both wages and land rents will be equalized.
I must add that, in reality, wages and land rents are at best only roughly equal.

In California, is it mandatory to bomb for fleas when moving out of a rental?
Q. We have been renting in San Diego and we have a dog and now were moving out and our landlord is telling us we must bomb for fleas. Our lease does not state this.
By the way, the dog does not have fleas.
By the way, the dog does not have fleas.
A. no....the landlord is just being an ass....but if your dog is has fleas you should...I mean its just common courtesy for the next round of people who will eventually live there
