Q. I currently work full time and once I go on maternity leave I only get 6 weeks full pay, and then the rest at a fraction of that. My partner works full time too and we rent our house privately. All of the benefits mumbo jumbo is confusing me and from what I can gather, most benefits are only available to the unemployed who drain our system enough as it is? All seems highly unfair.
A. I can't tell you exactly what you can get but this should help you out. It takes a while though so I'd recommend putting the kettle on first. good luck https://www.dwpe-services.direct.gov.uk/portal/page/portal/ba/lp
Child tax credits are only being scrapped for those on a higher income. Not everyone on benefits is a scrounging chav either. I lost my job due to lack of government funding a few weeks ago and the employment market where I live is so bad that I am struggling to get a new job. Yes I am trying desperately because not working depresses me and makes me feel useless. Unfortunately benefits is the only option available to me right now if I want to keep a roof over my head. Believe me if I could get a job right now I would be absolutely delighted to have the opportunity to support myself but things did not go as planned. Not all on benefits are scroungers and it's alot harder to live on them than people think. I personally end up with about £5 spare a week for food after my bills and you get no extra help on JSA for being pregnant. You just have to find a way. I don't know how the scumbags who have no intention of ever working actually manage to live as they do because I sure am not living the life of riley!!

How does a lease with option to buy exactly work?
Q. Suppose I rent a house out with an option to buy. How much extra would I charge a month for the option? How do I know what price to agree on? Suppose the house is worth $120,000 right now, and I rent it out for $1200 per month. How would I do the transaction?
The house would normally rent for $1200 a month. How much would the new monthly rent be with the option included?

A. Here in the UK it means that you agree on a value of the house when you are in a position to purchase at a later date and the rent you have paid prior to this counts towards your deposit.Get a lawyer to explain and deal with this for you as it is easy to be caught out in an unfair arrangement.
Can you rent a house without a job?
Q. I'm moving to the UK after living abroad for a few years and I won't have a job when I arrive. The thing is, I will need to rent a house but is anyone going to rent me a house without a job?
I will have savings, just no job to start with. Would showing a prospective landlord my bank statement be enough to get me a house rental?

A. Generally no...........showing a statement will not garantee the landlord or more likely managing agent gets the rent, so offer 6 months rent in advance and try to negotiate a small reduction in the monthly amount...even £20 a month will help.......being away for years means you will not be entitled to any housing benefit/council tax benefit, but ask anyway at your local council.
I am a landlord and have just done this with one tenant who has is self employed, moved areas, so has no employer references but does have a CRB, proof of resifdence and bills previously paid, landlord reference from previous landlord and has paid 6 months in advance............................
